Margie + Nick were high school sweethearts, of sorts… They dated in high school before Margie and her family moved across the country to California. They seldom kept in contact but reconnected when Margie was back in the Midwest, and as they say, the rest is history! Margie and Nick’s love story is one of my very favorites; I cried hearing their story on our first call together!
They hosted the perfect intimate backyard wedding in Indiana on the bride’s family property. Their ceremony was set in the perfect alcove of the backyard, outlined by gorgeous Autumn colors. Guests were greeted with champagne and walked down a stone pathway, taking them through a garden walk before entering the ceremony.
Their cocktail hour was hosted on the lawn of the property where they served some of their favorites – shrimp cocktail and cheese and salami roll ups. One of my favorite moments was them waving from the home’s balcony to all their guests before joining cocktail hour!
Their reception took place in a heated, white tent just behind the ceremony space. The tablescapes were the epitome of classic elegance, all designed by the bride herself. The little touches like a vintage artwork seating chart, custom match books, and a cigar bar for the guys made the evening feel so intentional! And their dinner was a pizza buffet from a local pizza shop and served by Blue Belles staff, what a fun dinner option!
One of the most unique things I have ever happened at a wedding was at Margie + Nick’s wedding! The bride’s uncle has a garage band with a couple friends, and she convinced them to play a set during their reception. It was such a hit!
